A researcher in the psychology of performance excellence, Mustafa’s latest work has focused on adversity and growth in Olympic champions. His research has been published in high quality international peer-reviewed journals and he has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences. He is regularly interviewed about performance psychology-related topics for international newspapers (e.g., USA Today) and magazines (e.g., Men’s Fitness) and on British national radio (e.g., BBC Radio 5 Live).
Mustafa is a Research Fellow at the University of Gloucestershire in the School of Sport and Exercise and works with external partners to develop the Faculty’s research profile.
He has worked closely with various organisations on creating environments and cultures that enable high performance including WorldSkills UK, British Triathlon, and the NHS.
